Internet usage population has grown since 1996 to date. In 2007, Great Britain's household population of internet use was nearly 15 million.
Nearly eight in ten adults used the internet to find information. The internet was mainly used for sending and receiving email. Its usage has increased to gathering of information on goods or services. Internet usage statistics show how usage of internet has increased worldwide.
Users have changed their information search patterns. Internet shopping has become increasingly popular to purchase goods or services associated with leisure, such as travel, accomodation or holidays, food and groceries. Also students are actively using the internet for online entertainment and social networking like emailing and instant messaging is a most popular communication activity.
National Statistics online show that eighty per cent of UK households had internet access connection in 2007.

Some good initial research here but be careful with the way you introduce statistics - make sure it's clear what the figures are saying. And try to link to the sources where you found the figures - it gives people a chance to read more if they want to.
